A Whale or a Dolphin? No, I Am Paddling a Kayak

kayak Horsetooth Reservoir, Colorado

... from the thumbnail I thought you were riding a whale's back! ;-)

It's as if you're riding on the back of a whale that is silently gliding through the water.

My Thunderbolt kayak is often compared to a whale or a dolphin, especially, in a bow shot as above from my recent paddling on the Horsetooth Reservoir in Colorado. The hull of this kayak is not really black. It is made of black carbon fiber and yellow kevlar. The texture of that fabric is better visible on the pictures below. On the water the kayak hull works as a mirror reflecting sky and water and assuming quite different colors.

Just in case, I am keeping that racing number "13" on the front deck to avoid confusion with a whale.

Camera: waterproof Pentax Optio W10. Kayak: WSBS Thunderbolt-X.
