Microstock Photography Earnings Report for September 2008

microstock photography earnings September 2008

September was another busy month with shooting and contributing to microstock portfolio. My average portfolio grew up from 327 pictures in August to 392: 48 new pictures in iStock, 86 in Shutterstock, 56 in Dreamstime. My total earnings went up almost 30% in comparison to August with 407 downloaded pictures ($0.55 per picture).

Earnings from iStock were exactly the same like a month before while Shutterstock earnings went up. I reached the 500 downloads milestone from IS just a few days ago. Earlier this month I reviewed my best selling pictures at iStock. I have a chance to reach $500 total earnings from SS and switch to higher payment schedule.

However, IS and SS combined provided only 63% of my income in comparison to ~76% during previous months. It means that smaller players improved their performance: BME in DT, 123RF and SXP.

I got a surprise from Featurepics: two pictures of my outriger canoe were sold for $14. I started to submit my pictures Featurepics again with some promotions across my blogs.
