Variations on Tulips by Steve Hoglund

I've only recently begun working in Polaroid transfers, mostly I've concentrated on black & white photography. I'm enjoying working with transfers so far because it pushes me away from the Ansel Adams-type drive for technical perfection and focuses more on the artistic qualities of the image.

The images shown are 4x5 transfers from 6x6 Velvia transparencies using the enlarger projection method. All three are taken at the Skagit County Tulip Festival in Washington state. With these three images I'm trying to take basically the same subject (tulips) and look at it in some different contexts. I especially like the bug's eye view perspective of the yellow tulips and barn image.
